When home has a heartbeat

Without you I struggle to breathe. A chill coats the spaces between my fingers. My waist floats, ungrounded. My shoulders slump beneath the mud of existence. Like a hot rubberband, my chest burns from stretching too far. Every motion is restrained under water. Every feeling is a chorus for your presence. My heart beats your name, and aches. The butterflies become jittery snakes. The lava in my veins cools to razorblades. I hiss at the thought of leaving you to go to work, school, or sleep alone. My only solace is, soon, I will return home.

Sometimes I'll write something that is fantastic The best writing I've ever done. Some of the wittiest, or heartbreaking-est, or what-have-you-est writings ever "I'm so clever" I saw as I pat myself on the back. Then I read it the next day.... It was pretty bad.

I don't know how many people read this, but I have a small book that I've been working on and off on for the past seven years or so. It's been done for a while, but I haven't put the finishing touches on it yet. I'm not planning on putting every story from there onto here, but would anyone be interested in reading some of the stories there? They have stories about being dead, space, the Berlin Wall, and some poems too. Just a thought
